An 11-acre, sustainable, educational farm being built at Peterson Middle School in the suburban community of Sunnyvale, CA, at the intersection of Dunford Way and Quail Avenue. We are a project of Sustainable Community Gardens, a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting local, sustainable food systems in Silicon Valley. Through an innovative partnership with Santa Clara Unified School District , we will provide fresh organic food, hands-on environmental and nutrition education, and a unique community resource to both residents and students.^ ^Our mission is to give our community, especially its children, a living vision of a locally grown, sustainable food system, and to create a model that can inspire and assist other communities in restoring local food access.
